Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ(s)

What is Drop?

Drop is an online food order and delivery platform that enables you to order your favourite foods from locations close to where you live or are staying. Drop uses the restaurants and eateries that you know or, if you don’t, you can be sure Drop only selects food outlets with excellent reviews making your decision easy. Forget about leaving your home or office and let us deliver to you whatever you want to eat. Drop is easy to use and always keeps you fully up-to-date about the status of your delivery. For example when your food is being prepared and then when it’s being collected for delivery to you. We are currently partnered with various food outlets and restaurants up and down the country.

How does Drop work?

The client visits the Drop website (www.droponline.co.uk) or down loads our “Drop Eat” app from their mobile play store then:

  1. Simply enter your post postcode or use our location service, and you will see the local restaurants and their menus;
  2. Select an item and place an order from a particular restaurant/eatery;
  3. The restaurant receives and accepts the order and then prepares the food;
  4. Our Drop rider/driver picks up the prepared food from that restaurant and delivers it to your selected address.

What types of restaurants are listed on Drop?

Drop carefully onboards all types of restaurants and eateries that offer high-quality, delicious food and have customer-centred regulations.

How does contactless payment and delivery work?

In order to fulfill our commitment to providing the very best service, we have enabled contactless payment methods to cope with health and safety concerns and provide peace of mind for our clients. Contactless payment includes payments made with credit, debit cards, smart cards or other relatable electronic devices that offer limited contact payment methods between the client and Drop.

For contactless delivery:

  1. The Drop rider/driver will arrive at your selected address;
  2. You can keep track of your order on our mobile app and know exactly the status of your order;
  3. You will know that the courier has reached the drop location when you receive a message to say that they are outside;
  4. Pick up your food and enjoy.

How do I know if my order is accepted or not?

You will see, on your Drop app, the notification menu informing you that the order has been accepted and your food is being prepared. You can then check out the order status on the dashboard in your Drop user account. Occasionally, under extreme circumstances, the restaurant may be constrained by capacity at times of peak demand and your order may have to be delayed for a short time. At your request, Drop can then recommend an alternative, nearby option.

What are the payment methods?

For the safety and security of our clients we have applied the following contactless payment methods for your convenience:

  1. PayPal;
  2. Apple Pay;
  3. Google Pay; and
  4. Stripe
The above payment methods can also be integrated with your credit/debit cards to make payments to Drop.

How can I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order at any time as long as the restaurant has not started to prepare your food. As soon as the restaurant starts to prepare your food, your dashboard will show the ‘preparing your food’ status. This means that the restaurant from which you ordered has started to prepare your food and from this point on you are unable to cancel your order.

How can my restaurant partner with Drop?

It’s very simple. Send us the following information and we will make contact with you and start the on-boarding process:

  1. The name of your restaurant/eatery;
  2. The address of your restaurant/eatery;
  3. The owner or manager’s first and last names;
  4. Your email address;
  5. Your mobile number; and
  6. The type of food your restaurant/eatery provides.

This is insurance that covers you for the everyday use of your vehicle, not for work.

These are the specific type of cover that Drop riders need to have to carry out food deliveries in a car or on a scooter.

As a Drop rider you will need (SD&P) plus (H&R) insurance covers to complete deliveries for Drop.

What measures have been taken in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic?

We place the highest value on the health of our clients, delivery riders/drivers and our merchant partners (restaurants/eateries). We will always ensure that any food ordered is delivered to the client’s address in the safest and cleanest manner possible. Our riders/drivers are advised to use our delivery bags and you are requested to remove your delivery from the bag. Our partnered restaurants/eateries are advised to ensure food is freshly prepared and to the standards that their restaurant/eatery has been accredited by their local council.
