This Privacy Policy explains how Drop collects, records, uses and discloses personal information. Drop (“Droponline”, “Drop delivery”, “Drop eats”, “Drop delivery and ride platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a customer-centric food delivery company that takes data protection and privacy extremely seriously. We are committed to safeguarding the data and protecting the privacy of customers and visitors to our website (www.droponline.co.uk) or mobile application (“Drop eats”) from any computer, tablet, or mobile phone. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect personal information, use that information and protect it for our company records from customers using products offered via the aforementioned website and mobile app (together, the “Sites”).

The Privacy Policy applies to our customers, clients, users, visitors, suppliers, contractors, drivers, merchant partners, service providers, and vendors (altogether, “you”, “your”, and/or “yours”).

“Personal Data” refers to pieces of information that can be used for users, visitors, customers or clients for identification purposes. By using and/or visiting our “Sites”, you consent to our Privacy Policy alongside practices of data collection, data usage, data storage, and data disclosure where required and necessary. From time to time we may ask for consent if we wish to collect, use or disclose information other than as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

If you have any query, contradiction or doubt about any part of the Privacy Policy, we request that you do not proceed with any orders, transactions or data transfer with Drop including navigating our “Sites”, installing or uninstalling our mobile application.

Data Collection, Usage, and Disclosure

We collect personal data and information about you when you interact with us or use our products and services. For example, when you visit/use our “Sites” to place an order and/or enquire about products, delivery status, delivery locations or our address. To help you understand more, the following are the ways in which we may collect your information:

  1. We will ask you for your current or delivery location when you place an order with us through our “Sites”;
  2. We will ask you for basic personal information such as name, phone number, email, and location when you create an account with us or change your account settings;
  3. We will ask for consent to contact you on the provided email address, phone or text in case of product/services query for example order confirmation, address confirmation or delivery time;
  4. We will ask for the postcode or name of the city/village where you live when you reach our homepage at www.droponline.co.uk;
  5. We will ask you for personal information when you make online payments to us for delivery and/or food purchase;
  6. We will ask you for personal information when you contact us via phone or email in relation to our products or services;
  7. We may collect such personal information from you when you browse our “Sites”;
  8. If you are placing an order via our website, www.droponline.co.uk, we will ask for your postcode, flat/building number, street address, credit/debit card number, and instructions for the rider/driver.

As part of our commitment and dedication to you, we want to be very clear and concise about collecting any of your personal data. The following sections outline the methods we use to collect your data;

  1. We will ask you to enter your city name when you visit our “Sites” to place an order;
  2. We will collect your IP address, location, preferred language, website settings, device name (if mobiles), and browser’s name when you visit our “Sites” for food purchase and browsing;
  3. We may record calls made to/from us, messages sent to/from us, and emails sent to/from us for service improvement, training, and for our business record;
  4. We will ask you for the following information when you interact or place an order with us via our mobile application (Drop eats):
    1. User location (latitude/longitude) or user postcode;
    2. Username and Password Account Registration and Creation; and
    3. User address (for billing and/or delivery purposes);
  5. If you are placing an order from our mobile app, we may ask for two user inputs:
    1. postcode of your area, or
    2. live location;

Unless otherwise instructed, we will only collect the aforementioned data from you with your consent.

The purpose of data collection is to:

  1. Provide you with access to our “Sites” in order to browse and purchase our products/services;
  2. Deliver ordered products to the address providedby you;
  3. Enable us to collect payment from you;
  4. Collect feedback, compliments, complaints, reviews, and ratings;
  5. Communicate with you via email, phone, and/or message;
  6. Interact with you for order placement, order confirmation, order queries and to confirm your address for delivery.

Data Protection

Drop has adopted robust technologies and IT mechanisms to ensure the maximum safety and security of your data. The data remains confidential to us and is used only in connection with products and services relevant to Drop and the customer. Drop will only ever share your personal data with a third party if that third party is offering products/services which may be of interest to you.

Should you wish to opt out of sharing your data with any third party organisation, please contact the Drop administrator. We are a vendor-oriented delivery company and we take seriously the protection of our customers' data.

We have set up robust measures to prevent any unauthorised access to accounts. We urge you, therefore, not to share your account details with any Drop rider/driver under any circumstances. When you create an account with us, it is your responsibility to keep it safe from others. Our highly integrated online security system allows us to provide advanced data protection.

Drop for Business

Drop collects information from businesses such as restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, and other eateries that are affiliated with its business programme. We provide excellent opportunities for you to grow and generate increased sales by working alongside us. To register your business with Drop, we may require the following information from you:

  1. Your business name;
  2. Your business address;
  3. Your name;
  4. Your email address;
  5. Your mobile number; and
  6. Business type.

Once the information is authenticated one of our team will notify you and we can proceed with the onboarding process to the Drop platform. The data you provide will be used as outlined in Section 1.

How Drop Works With Vendors

  1. The customer finds your restaurant and places their order on Drop via the “Sites”;
  2. The vendor/restaurant accepts and prepares the order;
  3. The driver/rider arrives at your restaurant to collectthe order and delivers the order to the address provided.

Drop For Drivers

Drop provides excellent opportunities to individuals who wish to pursue a career in the food delivery industry. To that end, our recruitment team selects experienced, licenced, and professional riders/drivers to become part of our expanding family. Once the riders/drivers are on board with us, we will ask for the following:

  1. Licence numbers;
  2. Vehicle registration papers (for authentication only);
  3. Vehicle CRB and/or DBS check report; and
  4. Dedication and commitment.

When the above-named documents are submitted, you will be notified about your employment status with us. The documents provided will be authenticated, by Drop, to confirm legality.

How Drop Works With Drivers

  1. Customer places an order on Drop via the vendors on our platform;
  2. Restaurant confirms the order and prepares the food for the rider to pick up;
  3. Driver receives a notification with complete details about the order, destination and necessary details of the customer.

Driver Entitlements:

Drop gives you the right to access and control the provided data to us through the aforesaid methods. Drop also provides you with complete access to copies of your data, updates, edits, changes and deletions to the user account.

You also have the right to make a formal complaint should you become aware of any mishandling of your data collection or protection. Drop’s Privacy Policy is completely in line with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Cookies

Drop collects your personal information in the form of cookies automatically. However, you have the right to manage, control, and refuse cookies at any time. Cookies allow us to ascertain certain information about you when you visit our “Sites” (see above Data Collection, Usage, and Disclosure).

Marketing

Drop makes use of certain marketing techniques in order to be able to provide you with the benefit of information about our products and services. We may use your email address and phone number to send marketing, promotional emails, newsletters, alerts or messages related to our product and services. You have the right to unsubscribe to such emails or marketing information at any time. You can also change your marketing preferences by either contacting us or changing your user account.

Disclosure of Your Information

The information we collect via the above methods will stay with us in our database. We will only share your personal details with partner cafes, restaurants, cafeterias, and other eateries as required for the purposes outlined in Section 1 of this document and as necessary in the carrying out of our business. The following are types of organisations that we may share your information with:

  1. Restaurants, cafes, cafeteria partners;
  2. Payment providers;
  3. Riders/Drivers;
  4. Customer Support representatives; and
  5. Marketing and IT departments.

We may also share information with legal authorities and regulatory bodies to show compliance as and when required. Other than in these circumstances, Drop and will never share collected data with any third party or individual whatsoever.

Updates and Changes in the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is subject to changes and updates as and when required. These updates and changes will be posted on the “Sites” where appropriate and you will be notified by email.
